Kristin Kaufman, Executive Coach and Consultant
After 25 years of Fortune 50 experience, Kristin Kaufman launched Alignment,
Inc., a company focused on helping individuals, teams, and leaders
increase their overall levels of contribution, bottom-line effectiveness,
and personal fulfillment. Since its inception, she has helped executives
and senior teams around the world from organizations such as: Hewlett-Packard,
Accenture, and The US Forestry Service, among others. She has worked with
Noel Tichy's Cycle of Leadership executive program since the late 1990's.
Prior to becoming an executive coach and consultant, Kristin’s corporate experience was broad. As Group Vice President of United Health Group, Kristin provided expertise for its go-to-market strategies, defined and created alternative channels to improve organic growth, and implemented sales effectiveness methodologies across all segments within United Health Group.
She joined the NYC Leadership Academy effort, which was the centerpiece of the New York City Children First reform agenda. This agenda was sponsored by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Chancellor Joel Klein, and the Academy was lead by CEO, Robert E. Knowling, Jr. The goal of this reform was to create a system of outstanding schools where every child and teacher has access to effective teaching and learning. Kristin was chosen, as one of two private sector business executives, to teach and train the 1,200 principals of the NYC public school system and the top 100 executives on the Chancellor's staff. Curriculum for the Academy was developed by Noel Tichy in conjunction with Action Learning Associates.
Serving as Worldwide Channels Vice-President on the Executive Committee of Vignette Corporation, a $250 million publicly traded software company, Kristin honed her skills on optimizing resources and ruthlessly focusing to deliver results. Under her leadership, her team built an infrastructure that laid the foundation for a thriving channel/alliances organization, and strong relations in the industry.
As General Manager, Kristin led the indirect channels sales organization which supported Hewlett-Packard's largest corporate accounts. This business represented a $3 billion revenue stream for Hewlett-Packard. She defined and directed a multi-channel distribution strategy while leading a highly-matrixed organization. Kristin was regarded as a leader at Hewlett-Packard and was selected as a member of their President's Club, which is awarded to the top 100 employees of Hewlett-Packard for outstanding direct sales quota performance and sales leadership capability.
Her accomplishments also include: Selection for the Kennedy Research Consulting Partner panel, New York City, as an industry expert on how to fully develop, leverage and capitalize on strategic alliances and channels in business; being chosen by “VAR Business” as one of the Top 20 Software Alliance and Channel Managers on a worldwide basis, and most recently, in 2007 she was honored one of 98 women leaders in the state of Texas to join the 25th Anniversary Class of Leadership Texas to help expand their knowledge on the diverse issues, dynamics and cultures that impact the State of Texas, and subsequently educate, drive, and influence change within the State.
Kristin is highly active in her community and the State of Texas. She is an active volunteer in the Dallas Junior League, Susan G. Komen, Leadership Arts, Ronald McDonald House for terminally ill children, and Operation Oasis. She graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a B.S. in Business Administration, with a concentration in statistics and quantitative analysis. She attended graduate executive programs at Duke University, Southern Methodist University, and University of Michigan. She is certified to administer Meyers Briggs, MBTI assessments, is a member of ICF (International Coaching Federation) and IMC (Independent Management Consultants).
